A one inch push of the bar forward (and have 'screws' flush with black mounts) made all the difference. Now the car seat does snap in and can not be removed even without the buckle across the seat. I was finally able to get my Keyfit 30 to snap into the adapter..after many tries. 1. Standing behind the stroller (as if you're pushing the stroller), the "FOOT" support bar should be closest to you. The "HEAD" support bar should be farthest away from you. 2. When putting together the support bars, you want to make sure you are putting the black bar fasteners on the correct side of the support bars. The bar fasteners should go on the RIGHT SIDE of the adapter brackets. I originally put the bar fasteners in on the left side of the adapter brackets, and when I put the Keyfit in, it sat inside the support bars instead of snapping in. (I realized later that the instructions did show the fasteners on the right side of the brackets..but you have to look very closely. The instructions don't state that important fact at all.) For some reason, this has been very confusing for some people.) I used this adapter on my 2010 City Mini stroller, and it works perfectly well. When I place my carseat (without the base) into the adapter, it locks into place and is so secure that I can actually lift the entire stroller by the handle of the carseat. I still use the strap just for added security. The adapter is the same price as a Snap and Go stroller, but this way I can use my City Mini, which is a much better stroller than just the frame, and I have one less piece of gear to store. I cannot recommend this carseat adapter enough! For those with Graco carseats, I believe there is a different adapter for other carseats - don't get this one. |
